Carpenter’s Tools - Belief is all you need! . . . . .
By Pastor Wallace Phillips – September 23rd, 2006
A man was lost while driving through the country. As he tried to read his map, he accidentally drove off the edge of the road and into the ditch. Though he wasn’t injured, his car was stuck deep in the mud. So the man hopped out of the car and walked to a nearby farm to ask for help.
He found the farmer and asked for a hand getting his car out of the mud. The farmer replied, “Polly will get you out of that ditch!” He’s an old mule, but he can pull. The man looked at the old mule and then looked at the farmer who said it again….”Polly can get you out of that ditch!” The man figured he had nothing to lose. Then he and the farmer made their way back to his car along with Polly the mule.
The farmer hitched Polly to the car. With a snap of the reins he shouted…”Pull Fred! Pull Sally! Pull Ted! Pull Polly!” And the mule pulled the car out of the muddy ditch on to dry ground with very little effort.
The man was amazed. He thanked the farmer, patted the mule and then asked, “Why did you call all those other names before you called Polly’s?” The farmer grinned and said, “Old Polly is just about blind. As long as she feels she’s part of a team, she don’t mind pulling.”
How true that is. The Bible says that “two are better than one” and “a three-fold cord is not easily broken.” Are you a part of a team? Keep a team spirit and you will accomplish much in the kingdom of God, and in the relationships that He has for you to establish.
