This week’s message: Los Amigos! . . . . .

Los Amigos! Since my readers are scattered about Northeastern North Carolina, some of them may be asking…”What is this about?” Well, it’s really quite simple. In the heart of our quaint little town of Ahoskie there is an awesome Mexican Restaurant called “Los Amigos”. I frequent this establishment quite often. My kids say…”All the time” or “Every time”. Nevertheless, I choose this little taste of Mexico for the same reason that I choose my “Little Panda” (that’s the best in Ahoskie for Chinese). The food and the service are both awesome! That, quite simply, is why I go back again and again.

Let me tell you….it’s no different for the house of God; the Church. People will come to the church if the spiritual “food” is good and the Christian “service” is great. I tell folk all the time....”Join us at Carpenter’s Shop. Treat us like the restaurant. It the food is good and the service is good, you will return. By the grace of God we must be servin’ up a good dish of both. Weekly we see guest and we are seeing them return. The church is growing! To God be the glory!

I believe God’s plan is for the church to grow. If it isn’t…we might ask ourselves the questions – “What are we serving?” and “Is our service good?”. The Word of God must be proclaimed and, as Paul said, “Rightly divided”. It also tells us that the early church took it upon themselves to “wait on tables” and serve the needs of the people. Good food, good service…..make an awesome combination for restaurants like Los Amigos and Little Panda. It also makes sense for Carpenter’s Shop Church…..and your church.

Come see us this Sunday at 903 South CC Road in Ahoskie. It’s “The Church Where All Are Welcome”…..servin’ up some awesome spiritual food in the service of love.
